Congratulations to Ilo Ilo for winning 4 awards at the Golden Horse Award! (known as the Oscars of the Chinese-language film industry.) The awards include Best Supporting Actress for Yeo Yann Yann; Best New Director and Best Original Screenplay for director Anthony Chen; and the grand prize of the event, Best Feature Film.
This is the 1st time for Singapore to win Best Feature Film at the Golden Horse Award.
In his acceptance speech for best film, Anthony Chen said: “We come from a small country and this film probably has the smallest scale and budget and I never expected to win.”
